Based in Dr. Conklin received his medical degree from Wake Forest University and completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Resident. After residency, Dr. Conklin remained at Vanderbilt, as an attending at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital where he served as the Assistant Residency Training Director and a core faculty member in the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society. Concurrently, during his time at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Conklin worked for Nashville Veterans Affairs as the Director for the outpatient teaching clinic and as a staff psychiatrist. He has worked for Health Solutions West since 2020 and Health Solutions South since 2025. During his time with Health Solutions, he has held several clinical and administrative positions. His professional mission is to have the greatest possible impact on the mental health of patients, families, and communities by developing evidence-based systems of care to prevent deaths of despair and promote human flourishing.
When not at work he enjoys skiing, trail running, mountain biking, cooking, and most importantly becoming a better father and husband.
